The main large colour works for the Capsule. The ‘Claws’ and the ‘Mouth’.
Continuing with the idea of Comic corners and other old school Comic cover elements, the main aim with these two was to hero the bright comic colours of each uniform. The different depth of field of each image combined for an interesting and dynamic pair, highlighting both of the character’s strongest weapons.
Experimenting with a watercolour and guache base, and Prismacolour coloured pencils was a huge challenge, but to great effect in the end. A big shoutout to my Blackwing two step long point sharpener. We had some Dodgy Paper made using these shavings, and the creation of these two pieces also lead to the circumstances for discovering our new Studio name-
Broken Lead Studio.
