My Artwork for the ‘Swish’ Basketball show at No Vacancy Gallery in 2016.

With every entry to be created on a 60cm wide circular wooden surface the challenge was coming up with an image in the round. First thing that came to mind was a Basketball, but that wasn’t quite interesting enough. After working through a few ideas and wanting to make the piece as personal as I could I opted to paint a pile of a bunch of my Basketball things from around the house.

From my first NBA jerseys, to local Basketball teams I have played for, socks and sneakers worn- well one pair not so much. A borrowed shirt, a basketball and cap, and of course a very humble amount of trophies.

The piece was painted with Oil paint on wood. The title inspired from the incredible True Detective.

Having been a huge Basketball fan and player my whole life this show was such a blast to be part of. One of my first big group shows where I was able to have my Art hanging alongside so many established and incredible Artists.
